Tripolina Polo Tanguero Leather Chair
The Tripolina chair is rich in history. Invented by Englishman Joseph B. Fenby, and patented in 1881, it was used as a camping chair in military campaigns. The ability to fold this chair made it easily portable, and the durable hide seat cover meant it could stand up to wear and tear along its travels.
The Big BKF Buenos Aires reproduction of the Tripolina chair boasts high quality vegetable tanned leather, the same leather used to manufacture polo boots and saddles. Each high quality hide is unique with natural range marks, scars and wrinkles, all confirming the authenticity of the leather and enhancing its natural beauty. Artisans then hand-craft and tan each cover with environmentally-friendly vegetable dyes from Argentina. This Polo Tanguero thick leather cover looks sensual & elegant, just like the Tango.
The chair's frameis constructed from the "Lenga Fueguina" tree native to Patagonia. This tree is used to produce fine furniture and hasspecial characteristics in terms of flexibility and lightness as it is capable of sustaining winds of more than 200 km/h. The chair folds easily along fashioned metal swivel joints and fits into a compact carrying case for easy transport, wherever adventures take you.
We are offering the frame in the following finishes: oak, natural, and wengue.
