Wow, here we are at the 6 week reveal of my Vintage Glam Designer's Office. Honestly, where did the time go? As I sit in this room, I am quite proud of the transformation I was able to accomplish in the last weeks. Please click on the links above for previous blog entries of the room's progress.
I feel that my design plan for the home designer's office is ambitious. Not only did I spend quite a bit of time coming up with the design and rendering to set the right course, all of the furnishings within the room are refinished. As I head into the final days, time is definitely getting the best of me. However, I do intend to keep going and see if I can sprint to the finish!
Remember being in school and thinking you had plenty of time to study for your upcoming test? So each day you thought to yourself, "no problem, plenty of time, I'll start tomorrow". Well, I would liken the ORC to the same retro-experience!
Oh how the weeks are flying by! Last week, I introduced you to some of the pieces I would be refinishing for the new office. Firstly, there was the credenza that I will be keeping in the space.
I have this large credenza in what will be my new home office. It provides a lot of storage and I love it's straight lines and simple modern design. However, it could use some extra detail to make it more interesting and fit in with my new design.
Last week was a busy one. I spent most of the week sourcing for a new client, preparing for a few film and television auditions, and finished off the week with one heck of a snow storm that continues today! Even lost power several times throughout the week. That said, the show must go on and so I decided to nail down a few more decisions in the room with regards to the refinishing projects that I will be undertaking as well as introduce you to the pieces themselves.
I am so excited to be participating in the Spring 2018 One Room Challenge ™! The challenge is now a bi-annual nationwide event that House Beautiful has partnered with ORC to follow 20 featured designers as well as guest participants like me!
We love campaign style furniture here at Etienne Interiors. Over the years, we have completed several makeovers on vintage furniture with amazing results. What most attracts us to this style is its ability to mix well with contemporary decor, its clean lines and most of all, gleaming hardware.
